May
27, 2004: Waugh again sets up his easel to benefit one of his favorite
charities, Camp Heartland in Minneapolis. Here he paints live with
musical inspiration from the incomparable Nelly Furtado and a full-band
orchestra at the 3rd Annual Cities 97 Hope in the Heartland Music
& Art Auction. Waugh donates his performance piece for auction as
well as other Waugh original works of art.

May
1, 2004: Waugh returns to Atlanta, this time at the special invitation
of the Cobb Symphony Orchestra (CSO), which asks Waugh to paint
live at its “Georgia On My Mind” Gala at the Renaissance Waverly
Hotel Ballroom. The versatility of the full orchestra inspires Waugh’s
creation, which he donates to the live auction with proceeds benefiting
the CSO.
April
30, 2004: Fans of the film The Color Purple may recognize Maria Howell
as the lead vocalist of the gospel choir. Here Waugh paints live to
her soaring vocals, accompanied by the Gary Land Groove. The painting
performance takes place at Sambuca Jazz Café, an Atlanta landmark for
great late-night jazz.
February
14-16, 2004: By special invitation, Waugh appears at the prestigious
41st Annual Coconut Grove Art Festival. At the event bandstand, Waugh
paints live with Jefferson Starship, Firefall, and Allan Harris in front
of hundreds of thousands of fans.
October
22-26, 2003: Waugh heads to the West Coast for 9 performances over
5 nights, painting to the live jazz beat of Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons.
Waugh wows audiences at Kimballs East Jazz Club in San Francisco as
he paints start to finish during each performance.

October
19, 2003: Waugh again contributes his times and talents to charity.
This time he paints live for UNICEF’s “Designs of Hope” Benefit
at the Venue on Lambert, Atlanta, GA. Sponsors include Elton John
and radio personalities from Atlanta’s 94.1 STAR 94 radio. Waugh
paints live to the jazz sounds of Joey Sommerville and donates not
only the proceeds from the performance art but other original Waugh
works of art as well.

June
13, 2003: Waugh teams up with legendary vocalist Tony Bennett at
the 25th Annual Grand Prix Gala in Montreal, Canada, to aid the
Starlight Children’s Foundation. Waugh finds special inspiration
from Bennett’s smooth song styling as he paints live, and the audience
certainly appreciates the duo’s interaction. Waugh’s performance
art raises an impressive $12,000 at the live auction that evening,
with all funds going to the charity.
May
24, 2003: Waugh shows his concerns for children’s issues and safety
by painting live at the Atlanta Children’s Shelter Charity Jazz Ball.
Waugh hits his stride painting to jazz legends Freddy Cole and Jacques
Lesure. In a historic painting performance, Waugh amazes the audience
by simultaneously painting 4 large canvases suspended by cables during
the event. Waugh donates all 4 pieces to the live auction and all
the proceeds benefit Atlanta’s displaced children.
May
22, 2003: Waugh returns to Atlanta to demonstrate his interest in
the city and his concerns for its residents. This time Waugh paints
live for the 15th Annual Taste of the Nation Benefit, which helps
fight hunger, particularly for children. Waugh is a big hit at the
annual event, painting live to Atlanta’s own Joe Grandson Trio.
Sponsor Ted Turner expresses his admiration for Waugh’s talents
and thanks him for donating the performance art to the live auction,
with proceeds benefiting this worthy cause.
